Wellington, Kan. - Sumner Regional Medical Center Endowment Foundation, Sumner County Economic Development Commission and Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB will host an auction to benefit the Endowment Foundation and communicate to the public their commitment to the hospital, staff and county to provide excellent health care and support to the community.
The event will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in Memorial Auditorium. Tickets for the event go on sale for $20.00 each. The benefit auction will feature a silent and live auction to raise funds for the Endowment Foundation. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. This event will also be an opportunity for the hospital and the foundation to share updates about the hospital and will shed light on some short term and long term goals and the process of how to achieve them.
“We support the need of a hospital for our community. The hospital is vital to our county’s physical, mental and economic health. Healthcare is changing and we want to make sure our county stakeholders understand the importance of this hospital.” says Larry Theurer, Chairman of the Endowment Foundation board.
“The economic impact of healthcare on a community is vital. The loss of a hospital to a community is economically devastating. Sumner County Economic Development Commission wishes to show its support and commitment to the efforts being made to maintain healthcare provided by Sumner Regional Medical Center. We wish to collaboratively work with the Foundation to promote a positive and continued presence of this hospital,” says Stacy Davis, Director of Sumner County Economic Development. This event would not be possible without the county and its communities working together.
“We are grateful to the city, county, hospital staff and board, as well as all the community members that continue to show their trust and support of our hospital to find solutions and adjust to changes demanded of Kansas health care providers. We can and we will succeed, and in the end our hospital will prevail,” said Hankie Holefelder, Endowment Foundation board member.
Donations can be made in advance or at the event. Checks should be made payable to the Sumner Regional Medical Center Endowment Foundation. Tickets may be purchased from board members of the Endowment Foundation, at the Sumner Regional Medical Center front office, Chamber and Sumner County Economic Development Commission.
