Want to show off how much you love Wellington? The local chamber of commerce can help with that.
The Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Sunflower Custom Tee's to produce “I *heart* Wellington” signs.
“The idea behind it is we want to show we love Wellington,” said the Chamber's Executive Director, Annarose White. The metal street signs are $15 at the Chamber or Sunflower. Proceeds from the signs are going towards the Wellington Image Group, to help market Wellington across the region, and bring visitors and new residents to town. The first batch of signs has sold out already, but there is a waiting list people can get on by emailing the Chamber.
“When visitors are coming into our community, shopping at our local retail stores, or meeting with a company...we want people to know how much that we love this town,” White added.
White said another fun idea for the signs would be for people to take pictures holding the signs around Wellington, while enjoying local activities – such as catching a nice fish at Wellington Lake, or during an event at the Kansas Wheat Festival, etc.
“'I Love New York' has a campaign, why can't we?” White continued. “They're just really fun signs.”
